What to expect during a Pelvic Floor Evaluation

Surprise! Yes, there is physical therapy geared towards problems “down there” such as urinary leakage, pain with intercourse, pelvic organ prolapse or pelvic pressure, diastasis recti, cesarian/ perineal scar pain, and more!

With life’s daily stressors, and the beautiful but HARD task of child bearing, the pelvic floor muscles can become tight, weak, and/or poorly coordinated leading to pelvic pain and functional problems.

The good news is that I can help by performing a pelvic floor evaluation to see what is going on! Not just to treat the symptoms, but to treat the root cause!

Here is what you can expect:

Prior to coming into your first visit, I will email you a questionnaire (and all the fun consent forms) to fill out so I can gear your visit towards your primary concern.

At your first visit, we will have a 90-minute private evaluation starting off with conversation to get to know each other and gather all the details regarding your concern.

Next will follow the physical assessment. I will examine your:

- Posture

- Breathing pattern

- Diastatis recti if you are postpartum

- Core/ back/ hip strength and flexibility

- External and Internal pelvic floor muscles via vaginal opening (with Consent!)

- Functional movement

Based on what I see, I will recommend a frequency (usually 1x/wk) and will provide you with a home exercise program so you can start addressing these symptoms at home and get your life back.

My goal is to give you all the tools and education you need to succeed so you don’t have to depend on me. I want to empower and equip you so you can start feeling comfortable and confident in your own body.

If this sounds like something you need or are interested in, don’t hesitate to reach out. Give me a call at (941) 444 -1006 or or email at
